Em fevereiro de 2026, a ICAMP® teve o privilégio de participar e patrocinar o Seminário ASPI, realizado em parceria com o CIESP Campinas. O evento, sob o tema “Propriedade Intelectual em Debate: Inovação, Startups e os Desafios das Patentes Farmacêuticas”, consolidou o que já observamos na prática: a Região Metropolitana de Campinas (RMC) não é apenas um polo econômico, mas um organismo vivo de alta tração tecnológica.

Nossa Diretora da Divisão Internacional, @Fernanda Emerenciano, mediou o painel focado no ecossistema local, trocando perspectivas fundamentais com lideranças do CPQD e do CTI Renato Archer.

Um dos pontos altos do debate foi a análise do Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2024. Campinas foi a cidade brasileira que mais cresceu no ranking mundial, consolidando-se como o 4º maior hub do Brasil e o 157º do mundo. Esse crescimento é reflexo de uma rede de interação que integra mais de 20 universidades e centros de pesquisa, além de uma infraestrutura logística liderada por Viracopos.

O cluster Campinas/São Paulo ocupa hoje o 49º lugar mundial no Índice Global de Inovação (GII), sendo o único representante da América Latina no Top 50.

Discutimos a importância da Propriedade Intelectual (PI) através da régua TRL (Technology Readiness Level). O desafio para a startup é atravessar o “Vale da Morte” (TRL 4 ao 7) e atingir a escala industrial (TRL 9).

Segurança para o Investidor: O valuation de uma startup atinge seu ápice no TRL 9, mas sem a correta proteção de ativos, esse valor torna-se vulnerável.
Ativos Auditáveis: A PI transforma o esforço intelectual em um ativo financeiro auditável, essencial para rodadas de investimento e processos de exit.

Liderança em Software e Deep Techs

O painel trouxe dados impressionantes sobre a maturidade do nosso polo:

Software e IA: O CPQD destacou-se como o 1º lugar nacional no Ranking do INPI em registros de software, com um histórico acumulado de 2.352 registros. O debate sobre Invenções Implementadas por Computador (IIC) reforçou que a proteção da lógica técnica é o caminho para a exclusividade em IA.
Hardware e Saúde: O CTI Renato Archer apresentou o novo CTI-Tec, focado em Deep Techs, saúde avançada e indústria 4.0. Através de seus Laboratórios Abertos, o CTI permite que startups acessem infraestruturas de ponta para validar tecnologias complexas, reduzindo o custo de P&D.

O Seminário provou que a força de Campinas reside na integração. O arranjo entre o setor público, universidades e prestadores de serviço especializados em PI cria o solo fértil necessário para que a ciência brasileira não apenas exista, mas lidere mercados globais.

ASPI Seminar “Intellectual Property in Debate: Innovation, Startups, and the Challenges of Pharmaceutical Patents”

In February 2026, ICAMP® had the privilege of participating in and sponsoring the ASPI Seminar, held in partnership with CIESP Campinas. The event, under the theme “Intellectual Property in Debate: Innovation, Startups, and the Challenges of Pharmaceutical Patents,” reinforced what we already observe in practice: the Metropolitan Region of Campinas (RMC) is not just an economic hub, but a living organism of high technological momentum.

Our Director of the International Division, @Fernanda Emerenciano, moderated the panel focused on the local ecosystem, exchanging key perspectives with leaders from CPQD and CTI Renato Archer.

One of the highlights of the discussion was the analysis of the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2024. Campinas was the Brazilian city that grew the most in the global ranking, establishing itself as the 4th largest hub in Brazil and the 157th in the world. This growth reflects a network of interaction that integrates more than 20 universities and research centers, in addition to a logistics infrastructure led by Viracopos.

The Campinas/São Paulo cluster currently ranks 49th globally in the Global Innovation Index (GII), being the only representative from Latin America in the Top 50.

We discussed the importance of Intellectual Property (IP) through the TRL (Technology Readiness Level) scale. The challenge for startups is to cross the “Valley of Death” (TRL 4 to 7) and reach industrial scale (TRL 9).

Investor Security: A startup’s valuation reaches its peak at TRL 9, but without proper asset protection, this value becomes vulnerable.
Auditable Assets: IP transforms intellectual effort into an auditable financial asset, essential for investment rounds and exit processes.

Leadership in Software and Deep Techs

The panel brought impressive data on the maturity of our innovation hub:

Software and AI: CPQD stood out as 1st place nationally in the INPI Ranking for software registrations, with a cumulative total of 2,352 registrations. The discussion on Computer-Implemented Inventions (CII) reinforced that protecting technical logic is the path to exclusivity in AI.
Hardware and Health: CTI Renato Archer presented the new CTI-Tec, focused on Deep Techs, advanced healthcare, and Industry 4.0. Through its Open Labs, CTI allows startups to access cutting-edge infrastructure to validate complex technologies, reducing R&D costs.

The seminar demonstrated that Campinas’ strength lies in integration. The collaboration between the public sector, universities, and specialized IP service providers creates the fertile ground necessary for Brazilian science not only to exist but to lead global markets.
